Born in Traralgon, Victoria, Emily Beecroft is one of Australia’s leading Paralympic swimmers. She made her Paralympic debut at Rio 2016 before breaking through at Tokyo 2020, where she secured her first medals in the relay events.
After Tokyo, Emily made the move from Victoria to Queensland to join the UniSC High Performance Para Swimming Program on the Sunshine Coast, where she continues to elevate her training with the USC Spartans.
Her leadership in and out of the pool was recognised in 2024 when she was named the Female Athlete of the Paralympic Swimming Campaign and honoured as Swimming Australia’s Swimmer’s Swimmer.
That same year at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, Emily captured gold in the mixed 4×100m medley and bronze in the 100m Butterfly S9.
Beyond the water, Emily is close to completing her Bachelor of Communication (Social Media) at UniSC, balancing elite performance with her passion for media
and storytelling.
Her dedication to sport and community was recognised in 2025 when she received the Order of Australia Medal.
